Fast & Furious! Four F/A-18 Hornets from VMFA-232 — the “Red Devils” — are hanging around town this weekend. I first saw them yesterday afternoon as they were on approach into Boeing Field. We were near Pike Place Market, about 18 miles into a 25-mile bike ride, and I heard a super loud “WHOOSH!” Despite being pretty sore and tired (it was my first ride of the season), I was quickly rejuvenated! After having lived and worked in St. Louis, I do have to admit I miss seeing frequent fighters…

I can tell now that every time I see an Aussie airline I’m going to miss that country more and more. This 787-9 is seen here landing back at PAE after a 2.5-hour flight around Washington yesterday.

What a nice way to start the long weekend! This big boy just wrapped up one of the longest flights in the continental U.S. — Melbourne, Florida, to Everett, Washington. Always good to see the An-124!

Three looks, three airplanes, three decades! Top to bottom: 1968 Dassault Falcon 20, 1976 McDonnell Douglas DC-9-30, 1981 Boeing 727-200. After finally catching the new USA Jet livery a couple weeks ago, I was feeling nostalgic and decided to take a look back at some of their other planes — all of which feature slightly different looks. BTW, the plane I caught with the new paint was a 1991 MD-80 (yet another decade!). Loving all these tail engines, too.

🇶🇦 Qatari 🇶🇦 Boeing is delivering Qatar 737s left and right, but today was actually my first time seeing one of these Doha-bound beauties!

Remember when Vim vamoosed? The Russian carrier was in all kinds of trouble leading up to suspending services in 2017. Some of its airplanes were seized abroad due to debts owed, flights were cancelled leaving passengers stranded, and the airline was accused of large-scale fraud. This airframe is now with Eastern Airlines — though it’s still stored at MCI.
